- Use only gentle and clear shampoos and wash your hair in cool water no more than every third day.
- Do not shampoo your hair at least 3 days before and 3 days after each treatment.
- Use gentle combing and brushing.
- Any hair dyes should be discontinued as soon as you decide to use scalp cooling therapy and for a period of 3 months afterward.
- Dress warmly during your scalp cooling and chemotherapy sessions. An electric blanket is useful.
- We will provide a loose tooth comb during treatments which should be used very gently. Do not use hairbrushes, pull hair back, braid, or create any tension on hair.
- Refrain from getting your hair wet while at a beach or by a pool.
- Stay in the shade.
- Always spray hair with cool water to keep scalp cool when outdoors on hot days.
- Avoid using any head coverings such as wool caps, head wraps, or scarves.
