Vaccine Booster Update

The FDA and CDC have recently recommended a booster mRNA vaccine for patients with compromised immune systems.  If you have a cancer diagnosis which suppresses your immune system, or if you have received or are receiving active cancer treatment, we support your getting a booster mRNA vaccine.  A booster dose is especially recommended for those in the following circumstances: a diagnosis of leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, bone marrow diseases, or other cancer patients who are currently receiving chemotherapy or have received chemotherapy in the past 6 months.

You do not need a doctor’s order or note to receive a booster shot.  This includes either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine.  Please contact your local vaccine clinic, or find a vaccine at http://vaccines.gov
