Dr. Brian Greenwell, MD

Internal Medicine, Hematology and Medical Oncology

Dr. Brian Greenwell is board certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology and Medical Oncology. He earned his B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from Clemson University and subsequently his M.D. from the Medical University of South Carolina in 2012. He then completed his Residency in Internal Medicine at Barnes-Jewish Hospital/Washington University in St. Louis and his Fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology at Emory University’s Winship Cancer Institute, which he completed in 2018. On completion of his fellowship training, he worked as a faculty member at the Medical University of South Carolina where he was a Disease Focus Group Leader for the Malignant Hematology and Bone Marrow Transplant Group as well as developed and led South Carolina’s first Cutaneous Lymphoma Multidisciplinary Clinic. He was promoted to Associate Professor prior to joining Charleston Oncology in 2024.

Dr. Greenwell’s accomplishments also include selection to the Lymphoma Research Foundation Clinical Scholars Program, and previously serving as Chief Fellow during his time at Emory University. He has made significant contributions to scientific literature, served as site primary investigator on multiple clinical trials, and served on various manuscript review and grant review committees, including grants funded by the American Cancer Society.

Dr. Greenwell is driven to provide the highest levels of care to his patients, incorporating the latest immune-based, targeted, and cellular therapies into treatment paradigms for patients.
