Landing on Your Feet: Celebrating Life After Cancer
June is National Cancer Survivors Month, and at Charleston Oncology, we celebrate cancer survival and the new lease on life that these survivors gain. After overcoming cancer, it can be challenging to land on your feet as you navigate the next phase and find a new normal, but eventually, you will find your balance.
As a cancer survivor, there are many things you can do to enhance your health, happiness, and the wellness of others. The possibilities are endless!
- Pursue Your Passions. Whether traveling, exploring new hobbies, or reconnecting with old friends, this is your time to do what makes you feel alive.
- Stay active and energized. Many survivors gain strength through movement. From beach walks to bike rides, staying active can be empowering and restorative.
- Share your story. Being involved in cancer support groups and sharing your experiences can help others who are still fighting. It can help you, too. Whether you mentor, volunteer, or inspire those around you, your voice makes a difference.
- Focus on your well-being. With health and self-care as a priority, you can live fully in mind, body, and spirit. Developing a survivorship care plan that includes follow-up care is a proactive way to take charge of your health.
- Celebrate milestones. Many cancer survivors honor their journey to becoming cancer-free by acknowledging important days like the anniversary of their diagnosis or the end of treatment.
A Community That Celebrates With You
At Charleston Oncology, we are proud to stand beside you through treatment and throughout your survivorship journey.
Here’s to living well, and here’s to you.
